MOVIETHON has been postponed until the weekend following Comic-Con. The reason being that our corporate sponsor was unable to provide the film they wanted us to watch prior to Sunday. It will arrive while we're at Comic-Con.

It's that time of the year when EyeCraveDVD.com wants you to punish us. That's right it's time for the second annual MOVIETHON. Once again the EyeCraveDVD.com team will be venturing to San Diego for the world famous, often imitated, never duplicated San Diego Comic-Con.

Now comes the part where we ask, nay, BEG for your help in getting there in one piece. In order to avoid the possibility of ‘alternate’ modes of transportation (stowing away in fruit trucks, trading ‘favors’ to motorcycle gangs, saddling up the Chihuahua, swapping tales with Hobos while we ride the rails, or hitch-hiking on a dark and lonely road…) we need to raise a little dough.

Being the open-minded, thrill-seeking and pathetically desperate individuals that we are, we’re willing to offer ourselves up for your amusement (at a small price…). We’re even willing to be subjected to TORTURE! That’s right… torture. Not HOSTEL-style, pitchforks-and-cheez-whiz- torture, and certainly not ‘Pair of pliers and a blowtorch’ torture, but torture nonetheless.

We’re talkin’ Movie Guy torture in the form of movie terrorism. We are going to sit down and watch 10 movies in a non-stop, all-in-a-row, no sleep, no breaks, no mercy, two-men-enter-no-men-leave MOVIETHON! And we’re so absolutely insane to get to San Diego that we are going to let YOU decide what we have to watch.

Make a pledge to help get us to the Con and you get to name a film. Once all the pledges and titles are in, we will compile a list of the top ten films listed, as well as the picks of our 10 highest pledgers. We will then sit our butts in our seats and watch 10 of those films in a row (based on availability and drawn at random).

Now here’s the best part… NOT ONLY DO YOU GET TO POTENTIALLY TORTURE US WITH YOUR PICKS… YOU COULD ALSO WIN BIG BIG PRIZES!!! Including DVD’s, Studio Swag, Vintage Posters, Lobby Cards and more, which we will draw at random IF we survive the Moviethon. We will also have special prizes for our top 5 sponsors, so dig deep and help us get to The Show!

While we are going to subject ourselves to your picks there are few guidelines. It must be a film that is currently widely available on DVD in North America. The running time must be also be reasonable. We won't be watching any 8-hour Russian epics or 5-part mythological series that amount to 36 hours of viewing time. They must be single titles, no LOTR expanded super mega edition series or 19-hour workprint versions of APOCALYPSE NOW. Try and choose something around the 120-180 minute range.

Not only will get to subject us to some horrendous, possibly life threatening movies, you have a change to win some exciting prizing. We're still working out the details on all the prizing, but I can tell you we already have some cool stuff lined up... like autographed Blu-ray's and DVDs.
